Iâm not advocating for Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho by the way, but itâs certainly not all bad IF Chelsea do the right deal for him and donât pay silly money.
Iâve been not convinced by him and of course I still have concerns over any drama that might follow him, but Iâm not as against it as many others are and believe me, I understand why.
But Expected Chelsea, who is a tactical account that I do admire on X, has posted some positivity on Garnacho this week and I thought why not share it here?
He posted:
âIf you are interested in stats, you should love Alejandro Garnacho.
âLook at the names Garnacho finds himself with when it comes to adding value and generating good shots – Wirtz, Yamal, Bellingham.
âAll this despite playing in the best league in the world, and for a bad team.

âFans don’t understand how hard it is to play in the PL as a young attacker. If you can play 100 PL games before 21, you’re most likely a huge talent regardless of production and team. And if you put up the underlying numbers Garnacho has? Very high chances of a future star.
âI always laugh at people passionately protesting against potentially signing Garnacho. Players like this rarely ever become available on the market, and we could possibly get him for a relatively cheap fee. Take the deal and run. Not every club is as stupid as United.
âI’d bet $10 that Garnacho’s numbers are deflated due to United’s poor structure and space in-possession – the opposite of what we see from Bundesliga attackers. Give him to a high-level coach who can streamline his responsibilities (Maresca, Conte, etc) and see what happens.â
Heâs made some very good points here and I donât think signing Garnacho would be all bad.
Letâs see what happens anyway!
