Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips wants to return to Leeds United, according to Football Insider.
Former Manchester United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown has revealed that the Englishman wants to go back to his former club Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.
Brown said: âKalvin Phillipsâ situation is still unresolved.
âHeâs gone back to City after the loan spell at Ipswich, but there doesnât seem to be too much interest.
âIâm told Leeds are still keen on that deal, but it has to be right for them.
âHe has no place at City, so theyâre going to have to move him on rather than keep paying him to sit in the stands every week.
âItâs the type of deal that will probably accelerate later in the window when clubs have done most of their important business and start looking at what else is available.
âThe secret is out, heâd like to go back to Leeds, he feels comfortable there and he will have the backing of the fans which can be so important.
âLeeds would like to bring him back too, but theyâre addressing more important areas first.
âIf we get closer to the deadline, theyâve done their major business and still have funds available, I wouldnât be surprised if they made a move.
âSo for now, just watch this space and weâll see what happens.â
