While Manchester United might have officially announced the arrival of Matheus Cunha last month in a reported £62.5million move, the mood around Old Trafford remains at an infamous low.
Suffering Europa League heartbreak against bitter domestic rivals Tottenham back in May, the Red Devils broke a string of unwanted records last season and the pressure on Ruben Amorimâs shoulders remains at a red-hot high.
With no European adventure pencilled in for next season and the red half of Manchester making their frustrations abundantly clear, United face a huge summer behind the scenes.
While skipper Bruno Fernandes might have publicly rejected a bank-breaking move to Saudi Arabia last month, it is no secret that Amorim is desperate to push many of his attacking superstars out of the Old Trafford exit.
With the former Sporting Lisbon boss making it clear that a new number nine is his number one priority ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, United are also desperate to slash their well-publicised wage bill.
Alongside Jadon Sanchoâs expected departure, it has been reported that United are actively working to get their attacking exodus underway immediately.
Marcus Rashford
Spending the second-half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, it is no secret that Marcus Rashfordâs return to Old Trafford will not be an extended one.
At the heart of a public feud with Amorim last year and with the Portuguese tactician making it clear that Unitedâs homegrown superstar is not part of his plans moving forward, Rashford is now completing a messy divorce from his boyhood club.
Although the 27-year-old might have shown flashes of his best during his brief stint at Villa Park last season, he only notched a pair of Premier League strikes and Unai Emeryâs side passed on the opportunity to make Rashfordâs move a permanent one.
Almost at a career crossroads and desperate to kickstart his charge for Thomas Tuchelâs England squad, it has been widely suggested that the 62-cap international has his sights completely focused on a move to Spanish giants Barcelona this summer.
Not set to be part of Man Unitedâs pre-season preparations, Amorimâs camp have also made it abundantly clear that they are willing to accept an offer of £40million from any club across the globe and are desperate to just draw a line under what has been a public divorce.

Alejandro Garnacho
While Alejandro Garnacho might have eventually stayed put at Old Trafford come the end of the January transfer window, it is inevitable that the Argentinian international will complete a long-awaited move away this summer.
Reportedly having multiple altercations with Amorim since the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss arrived back in November 2024, it has also been speculated that the 21-year-old has burnt many bridges in Manchester.
In a similar position to Rashford and with all parties pushing for an Old Trafford exit as soon as possible, Garnacho has been informed that he will not be part of Unitedâs pre-season preparations and will be exiled from the first-team picture entirely.
However, with his current deal running until the summer of 2028, United have reportedly placed a £70million price tag on the eight-cap international and have made their stance clear to any potential suitors.
While newly-crowned Serie A champions Napoli might remain a long-term admirer of Unitedâs wantaway attacking star, it has been suggested that Garnacho is focused on extending his Premier League stay.
Previously linked with a move to Chelsea back in January, it has also been reported that Aston Villa are keeping tabs on proceedings.
Aston Villa are one of the Premier League clubs considering Alejandro Garnacho, as revealed last month.
A left-sided attacker is a key priority for Unai Emery. Garnacho’s preference is to stay in the Premier League, and he has also been on radar of Chelsea this summer.

Antony
Almost becoming a figure of ridicule after completing a remarkable £81million move to Old Trafford back in 2022, Antony enjoyed what was a sensational resurge during his loan stint with Real Betis last season.
Completing a brief switch to the Spanish outfit during the January transfer window, the Brazilian star enjoyed an astonishing spell in Andalusia and has seen his reputation rebuild at quite the rate.
Helping Betis to the Europa Conference League final back in May, the 25-year-old recorded 14 direct goal contributions across all formats and cemented himself as a cult figure at the Villamarin Stadium.
While many around Old Trafford might welcome back the one-time Sao Paulo starlet with open arms this summer, it has been reported that Antony has no interest is reviving his United career.
Rewarded with a spot in Carlo Ancelottiâs maiden Brazil squad last month, Real Betis have made it abundantly clear that they are desperate to complete a permanent move.
With it suggested that United are willing to accept an offer in the region of £50million, it appears that Antony has plenty of suitors from across the continent.
