Liverpool are unlikely to be able to sign Nathan Collins from Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. Collins is said to be on Liverpoolâs radar, but the Bees do not want to cash in on the central defender.
Journalist Pete OâRourke told Football Insider: âItâs a bit of a surprising link, not just because itâs Nathan Collins â" he enjoyed a very good season for Brentford last year.
âThereâs no doubt Liverpool are looking light at centre-back having sold Jarell Quansah, and the ongoing speculation about Ibrahima Konateâs long-term future.
âAs it stands, Marc Guehi is the more likely target due to his contract situation at Crystal Palace.
âI canât see Brentford letting Collins go, having seen so many other star players leave this summer â" heâs just been made captain â" I just donât see how Brentford can afford to let him go.
âI donât even think they would be open to selling Collins, and it does seem the player isnât pushing for anything just yet.
âBrentford will be putting up the ânot for saleâ signs on Nathan Collins, because they canât really afford to lose another key player in that team.â
