Wolves close doors for Hwang exit

Hwang Hee-chan will not be leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, despite there being interest in his services from two Premier League clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano. Wolves board, as well as manager Vitor Pereira, see the South Korean attacker as an important part of their plans for the near future.

Wolves signed Hwang from RB Leipzig on an initial loan deal in the summer of 2021, and the move was made permanent the following year for a reported fee of around €17million. The 29-year-old, who can play anywhere across the front line, has so far made 121 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 24 goals and producing eight assists. He also has 71 caps for South Korea under his belt to date.

Hwang’s contract has three years left to run, with an option to extend for another year.
