Competition: MLS
Market: Charlotte FC win
Odds: 2/3 @ Pribet
Looking to extend on their recent purple patch, Charlotte will welcome Toronto to the Bank of America Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, while Charlotte might have signed off June in the midst of a worrying blip, Dean Smithâs camp have came roaring back in an eye-catching fashion. Skyrocketing their way up the Eastern Conference standings, they are once again sat in the driving seat to book another play-off ticket in 2025. Last seen claiming a frantic 3-2 victory away at Atlanta, the former Aston Villa boss should be smelling another golden opportunity this weekend. Including a 2-1 win against DC United in their last appearance at the Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte have won their previous three consecutive MLS appearances by an aggregate score of 7-3. It should also be highlighted, Sundayâs hosts have registered 10 points from their last four outings. Likewise, pencilled in as a standout contender here, Smithâs high-flying squad have also put 10 points on the board from their previous four MLS showdowns in North Carolina.
As for the visitors, making a return to losing ways last weekend as they slumped to a 1-0 loss away at Nashville, Toronto are once again scrapping it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings. Already watching their play-off dreams go up in smoke for another year, Robin Fraserâs side have won just a pair of their previous nine MLS appearances – a run that stems back to May 10th. Getting July underway with a routine 3-1 defeat away at New York City, the Reds should also be concerned by a nightmare recent record against Charlotte. Hit with a 2-0 loss when they welcomed the Crown to BMO Field back on June 1st, they have lost their last two meetings against Sundayâs hosts by an aggregate score of 5-2. Likewise, they have also lost three of their previous four MLS meetings. Given the recent gulf in class, we are backing a similar home win this weekend.
Bet: Charlotte FC 2/3 to beat Toronto FC in Sunday’s MLS battle @ Pribet
