Competition: MLS
Market: Vancouver Whitecaps win
Odds: 1/2 @ 1xBet
Knowing that they could climb to the top of the Western Conference standings this weekend, Vancouver will welcome Sporting KC to BC Place in the early hours of Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, while Vancouver might have notched just a single MLS victory since returning from the summer break, Sundayâs hosts have enjoyed a real MLS flurry this season. Cementing their spot as the Western Conferenceâs ultimate surprise package, the Whitecaps open this weekendâs fixtures sat in silver medal position and just one-point adrift of climbing to the top of the table. Cruising their way to a play-off ticket, Jesper Sorensenâs side will be looking to make another statement here. Laying down a marker on July 17th as they stormed their way to a 3-0 romp away at Houston, Vancouver will also be excited by their largely rugged success on home soil. Despite signing off June with an action-packed 5-3 defeat against San Diego, that is the only loss that Sorensenâs side have suffered in British Colombia from their previous 10 outings across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to March 23rd.
As for the visitors, although Sporting Kansas might have got July underway with a 2-1 victory against Colorado, it is fair to say that Sundayâs guests have largely struggled to find any real fluidity this season. Missing out on what they billed as a potential opportunity last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against New York City, the Wizards have failed to register consecutive MLS victories since opening the 2025 campaign. Scrapping it out at the foot of the Western Conference table, Sporting face a real uphill battle in the race to book a play-off spot. Slumping to a frantic 3-2 loss against Seattle earlier in the month, interim boss Kerry Zavagnin will be bracing himself for another stern examination here. It should also be noted, along with suffering back-to-back 2-1 defeats against Vancouver, Kansas have mustered just a sole win from any of their last six meetings against Sundayâs hosts.
