Manchester United are growing in confidence about signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, according to TBR. With Newcastle United having seen their initial offer for Sesko turned down, Premier League rivals Man United now believe that they will be able to bring the Slovenia international striker to Old Trafford.
Newcastle made a bid of £70 million for Sesko and were optimistic of getting a deal done. However, RB Leipzig have rejected it, with Man Utd now considering a rival offer. The Red Devils have already held talks with RB Leipzig and believe that they are in a strong position to bring the striker to Old Trafford.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: âNewcastle are wary of Manchester United, but I am told that Seskoâs camp has, to this point, made it clear that he has not made his decision on which club would be his preference.
âUnited have held talks with Leipzig and they are ready to make their own offer.
âUnited have been confident all week since opening talks with Seskoâs camp, but they were always aware of Newcastleâs interest, and they respect that they are putting together a strong case.
âLikewise, I am told Newcastle realise that the lure of Manchester United is a major hurdle for them to overcome, but neither side are backing down.â
